Performing choirs for children in grades K-12 require an audition: the Children's Chorus (entry-level performing choir, grades one-three); the Treble Junior Choir (intermediate performing choir, grades three-six); the Treble Ensemble (main performing choir, grades four-10); and the Chamber Singers (non-trebled voice choir, grades seven-10). Music skills are taught through a variety of methods, including singing, ear training, games, and written theory. The choir's repertoire includes folk, world, classical, jazz, and contemporary.
Preparatory classes are open without an audition to all children ages five-six who want to sing. The class concentrates on musical readiness training and is not performance oriented, though children are offered the opportunity to join in a performance if they choose. Children from this class are often eligible to enter the Children's Chorus.
Weekly rehearsals are held at the Maple Leaf Lutheran Church (10005 32nd Ave NE, Seattle); Winter and Spring Concerts are held at the
Museum of HIstory & Industry. The address above is the Chorus' mailing address only.
