The permanent collection at Patricia & Phillip Frost Art Museum at Florida International University includes examples of American printmaking from the '60s and '70s, photography, Pre-Columbian objects dating from 200-500 AD, and works by contemporary Caribbean and Latin American Artists. The museum also absorbed a collection of more than 2,300 objects from the former Metropolitan Museum and Art Center of Coral Gables that includes sculptures, photographs, paintings by major 20th century figures, Japanese Netsukes, and bronzes from Asian and African cultures.
