Actual peace may be difficult to find at
Peace A Pizza, but what this local chain - the winner of our
2009 Parents' Picks Award for
Best Pizza in Philadelphia - lacks in ambiance it more than makes up for in its gourmet pizza by the slice. Even the pickiest eater should find something tempting in a menu that ranges from basic
cheese and
pepperoni to
baked ziti and
bacon cheeseburger. Parents can order pizza by the slice or as a whole pie. The restaurant also offers a variety of
premium salads.
Although it caters to a college crowd,
Peace A Pizza manages to be family-friendly with low tables and chairs for smaller legs as well as highchairs. Placemats, crayons and balloons are available at the register, and for $4.99 the restaurant will give kids dough, sauce, cheese, and pepperoni to make their own pizza. Seating can be difficult for larger families during peak hours, however, and free parking is limited.
While it doesn't offer dessert itself, the restaurant shares real estate with
Hope's Cookies, which offers a selection of homemade cookies that include
Oatmeal Raisin,
White Russian and
M&M Delight. If that wasn't enough to tempt the taste buds, the bakery also serves locally-made ice cream and water ice.
If your child loves pizza, you can now throw a
Make Your Own Pizza birthday party. Packages include pizza ingredients, cookies, a favor, and more.
