What an absolutely fantastic, affordable little gem tucked into expensive Noe Valley.

I like the mix of used clothing and toys with new gifts, gear and toys. I bought about 5 birthday gifts, all under $20 and they gift wrapped each and everyone! It took my older girls about a 1/2 hour to pick out their favorite Webkinz so I had plenty of time to peruse the scene. I particularly appreciate the costumes and dress up section. And, as a penny pincher myself, I really appreciate the used shoes at such great prices. I saw a lot of Stride Rite shoes for about 20% of what they would cost new!

much better resale in other neighborhoods

The new look is nice, but the prices are rediculous. This store isn't a reasonable place to buy used stuff. plus, the best high end kids store in SF is down the street. so...some good points but not for me anymore.

I love the new Peek-a-bootique. It's so clean and bright and they still have a great selection of bargains. They also sell very cute new clothes and we like the toys selection as well. Every time I go in there's something new and nice. And they have a nice bathroom when you're in Noe Valley with a little one that has to go potty.

I have been going to Peek-a-bootique ever since they made changes, and it absolutely blows my mind.I even went there today to buy some socks and winter hats for my baby girl and older boy. The new owners have done a fantastic job on the remodeling of the store and the inventory has been superb. I am a mom in Noe Valley and have heard that the girls who work there are "mean", but that is not the case whenever i go there. They are helpful and friendly, and when I sold back my items they were extremely fair.People, I urge you not to believe anything else except that Peek-a-Bootique is the place to go for kid's things. I am one Noe Valley mom who will support my local store.

the change is more than the re-design. they are carrying less used and more new. i guess we're losing the resale store, and gaining a designer store instead.

i thought it would be more improved. where are the nice helpful clerks? way too expensive.

Kids stuff can be so expensive and they blow through sizes/gear so quickly. This store is a great resource for everyday clothes (both well chosen used and funky new) as well as gear. The friendly staff knows what's current, what works and why. I've even called ahead to check and see if they had something I needed, before heading out. Forget the garage sale -- they'll buy your old, quality stuff and you pocket the cash.

I've been away for a while and when I went in the other day and i was totally blown away. The store looks fantastic! There are still great resale opportunities and finds but now there are some really cute gift items and maternity wear. And it is so much easier to find things. What a great asset to the neighborhood. I'm definitely going to tell my friends. And I'll be back.

Finally a kids store that is great for parents. I brought my husband and his parents in to shop for my kids during the long weekend. Everyone had fun - there is so much space to move around - the clothes are so organized and the grandparents had fun playing with the train table and kids. We must have spent an hour there and came out with great deals. I don't know who wrote the previous review, but they obviously didn't take a look at the merchandise or talk to the other parents who were shopping there. We love the store and I've been in 3 times this week and found something each time.

This is the store for me. Great clothes, toys and kid gear for my infant and 6 year old. The prices are amazing. It's hard to tell what is new and what is used as it is all in great condition. They have the California Baby Sunscreen with the bug repellent at a better price than anyone. They've got a great new gazillion piece train set for $100 that is a must have for my son. They are so helpful, I can't believe the changes as I hadn't been in since it changed owners. Gone is the grumpy guy and it's now bright, has a dressing room, a diaper changing room and they gift wrap! I traded in the stroller I drove in with and came out with a new one that cost me half the price. I love a deal and I want everyone to know how great this store is!

i have to say that the new and improved Peek-A-Bootique is AWESOME!! under the old ownership i was never inclined to go in there and now i can't stay away! the new owners are helpful and its true that they are open to new ideas. the buyers have been blunt and helpful. i am impressed. Noe Valley moms, i urge you as a mother of 2 to go and check out Peek-a-Bootique. when other stores frequently close early, i've walked by Peek-a-Bootique with my children at 7pm and it was still open and the employees were there ready to help me!!

I've been there, but I like the other stores much better. There is a big difference between painting a store in order to make money, vs building a nice store for parents in the community to use and enjoy. All the other SF resale stores owners are mothers, and it shows. also, sounds like the ++reviews are by the new owner...what is up with that?

The store has been redone and the owners are very open to input on what would make their store great. They have a bit of an uphill climb because of the *not so stellar* previous owners reputation. It's unfortunate, because they really are interested in making this store work for the community. They have redone the place and they have invested a great deal in taking on board local childrens designers and new products. They've opened up the inventory for more maternity and older kids wear too. I'm happy that there is an interest in opening and maintaining childrens resale. I think it's only fair to give them a chance.

Great store!...They just went through a major remodel and opened the store up. Adding more space for more great priced gently worn clothes along with more NEW clothes and NEW equipment and more toys. When I first walked in, and I was away on the east coast for a while, I thought the store went all to new..... Everything looked so great!...the prices are still great and you can also find stuff on sale as well. I was giving up on them for a while there...now I am back as a loyal customer.

the two changes are the paint job, and the loss of good second hand clothing. I won't shop there anymore. too bad. we need a resale store in this area.

They have a wide selection of new wooden toys by Melissa and Doug. The staff is friendly and gives you many options on where to go if they don't have it and/or can't order it for you. Yes, I said order it for you. Some times with there new items you can make a special request and they will order it for you in their next order! Oh...and my daughter loves the new rain gear items that they carry by Kidorable.
