About Penguin Park
The winner of our 2008 Parents' Picks quest to find the best park for little kids in Kansas City, Penguin Park is a family favorite with a great playground including a 26-foot kangaroo slide and a 23-foot penguin to play inside. It's a great place for a child's birthday party.

- I'm torn between "it's just okay" and "has some good points". If you live close by, then it's probably a great park to visit. However, we drove 40 minutes to visit this "top-rated, best park in KC" & were disappointed. That 23-foot penguin to play inside is misleading. It's a 23-foot structure, but as all the kids can do is walk up 3 stairs & come down a teeny-tiny slide. The 26-foot kangaroo slide...again, the structure is 26-feet, but the slide is a little spiral slide inside. The inside area is dirty & the spiral staircase (esp. the last 3 steps) is dangerous for smaller children. I realize the park has been around for quite awhile, but it needs some TLC. Based on the picture provided on the webpage, we expected great things. I'm glad we tried it, but we won't go back. I would say there are much better parks in the city over Penguin Park.
