My 12 yo daughter has been taking classes at Peridance since she was a toddler in many different styles of dance. It's a wonderfully inclusive community that supports serious dancers through the core dance program, but also provides opportunities for those who aren't serious dancers but love taking high quality dance classes in a non-competitive environment. Because the school also has adult classes, the children can see that dance can be a life-long pursuit as well, not just another after-school activity. The teachers and staff are responsive to the individual needs and progress of each student, and truly nurturing. And every class culminates in an end of the year recital that is truly spectacular and professionally run. There's not a high turn-over of teachers and staff which is great for the kids and is a testament to the stability and professionalism of the school. We love Peridance and are so grateful to have been a member of its family for our daughter's entire mobile life!

I have been fortunate enough to have both a girl and a boy as members of the Peridance Youth Ensemble. My daughter was trained so beautifully that she received a dance scholarship to Marymount College. My son has been invited to participate in a summer dance intensive in Tuscany, Italy. The staff, both administrative and teaching, go above and beyond to address not only program interests, but the individual needs of students and families. Kindness and patience prevail. I can be certain of my child's personal and professional development, due to the manner in which they are trained and treated, as the unique people they are. I highly recommend this school to any who are searching for the ideal mix of technical prowess; and gentle, supportive guidance.

My daughter is 14 and has been dancing at Peridance for the past six years, and she has enjoyed every minute of it! She has taken many types of classes: Tap, Ballet, Hip-Hop, Jazz and Modern. The teacher's are excellent, the staff is friendly and accommodating, the facility is an awesome, state-of-the-art dance center and the range of classes they offer is incredible. The Spring Concert is a wonderful opportunity for the kids to showcase their year-long efforts. To us, one on the most important aspects of thisPeridance has been the nurturing, non-competitive environment they provide. I wish we had found Peridance sooner!

My daughter who is now five has been at Peridance since she was two and a half. Being a dancer and choreographer all my life I was relieved to have finally found the perfect place for her to study dance. Peridance has a diverse range of styles suited to any child's needs. Their teachers understand the importance of imparting both the technical aspects of any particular style, as well as the nurturing and social development that comes with learning to dance. The classes are both fun and productive and I was happy to see that the teachers had full control of their classes -- no chaos. The children at Peridance learn to work and dance as a group as well as build individual skills that they carry with them for a lifetime. Some benefits of the Peridance experience I have noticed over the years: 1. beautiful building which caters only to Peridance and their many classes for both children and adults -- complete with cafe. 2. professional environment -- the children have teachers and choreographers and dancers -- many very highly acclaimed in the dance world -- from all over the world -- working, rehearsing, teaching and performing in their midst -- as peridance caters to both beginning and professional adults as well. This gives the children something to aspire to -- or even just to witness -- that is not possible at many children's dance venues. 3. End of year show is at the famous and beautiful Aaron Davis Hall which gives the children the opportunity to perform in an approx. 750 seat theater with full lighting, costumes and packed audience...quite an experience for any young dancer! 4. Shelley Grantham (who runs the program) -- a mom herself -- is a passionate, organized and talented woman with the ability to make it all happen. Her love of dance is what really drew me to Peridance and definitely seems to seep into each and every class. As a dancer, I didn't want to force my daughter to dance, or tell her how or what she should be doing...and to my delight, when I enrolled her in classes there, I just stood back and watched her fall in love with dance without any push from me. She's in good hands -- no better place to go -- I give it two thumbs up.

My kids started at Peridance in kindergarten,and they're now entering high school. They have enjoyed all their classes and teachers enormously and have gained real confidence as dancers. I recommend this to any parent looking for professional-level dance classes in a nurturing environment.
