This is real old-fashioned barber shop and young and old (we've only seen men and boys) alike can have their hair cut side by side.
Though the chairs are old, and the floor isn't swept as often as we'd like, it does cater to children with a few rocking toys in the waiting area and abundant lollipops and bubble gum.
Young children can use booster seats or sit on an adult's lap - whichever works the best. The staff are barbers (not trained to work with children), but we've seen most of them in action and they really make an effort to make children feel comfortable.
At $13 for a haircut (young or old) the price can't be beat. It's usually so busy that the fact that they don't have kid videos at every station just doesn't seem to matter.

tips:
After school hours are very busy and the wait will be longer than at midday or dinner time. You don't need an appointment, but if the shop's hopping, make sure your entrance is acknowledged. The order in which you are served is only fair if they see you!!
getting there:
U.S. 1 to SW 112th Ave. Turn right from the northbound side, left if driving southbound. Take an immediate right into Suniland Shops(Bank of America, Gateway Computer, and Eckerd Drugs are visible from the road). Drive all the way to the end of the shops. Pete's Barber Shop is behind Pizza Hut.
