The Petersen Events Center, built in 2002, is a state-of-the-art arena that serves as a venue for a full slate of concerts, shows, and sporting events. The center, located at the peak of the University of Pittsburgh's upper campus, is also home to the Pittsburgh Panthers men's and women's basketball teams.
