In the city's North Park Village, Peterson Park is best known for its state-of-the-art gymnastics center, which offers quality instruction for beginners to advanced competitors year-round. Outside, the park's two soccer fields, four tennis courts, two playgrounds, two softball fields, walking path and four basketball standards get plenty of use, too.

At the park fieldhouse, kids enjoy tumbling, tap, jazz and ballet classes. Preschoolers have their own "Mommy & Me" ballet, as well as tumbling, tap, arts, and creative movement programs.

Also, the scenic, naturally wooded 24 acres of Peterson Park create the perfect setting for the Park District's annual Halloween haunt.
