about Philadelphia City Sail:

Philadelphia City Sail is a nonprofit maritime training organization with a focus on serving economically disadvantaged youth in the Delaware Valley region. City Sail offers charters and public sails aboard the 75-foot schooner, North Wind. Trips down the Delaware River depart from Penn's Landing every Friday and Saturday evening (weather permitting) May 1 through October 31. Advance ticket purchase is available by phone or online. All proceeds benefit Philadelphia City Sail educational programs. Each summer, City Sail offers one-week beginner and advanced Summer Sail Training Camp for Philadelphia area youth. Beginner courses focus on line handling, elementary navigation, and teamwork. Participants in the advanced courses head to the Chesapeake Bay on a five-day journey; students are responsible for voyage planning, navigation calculations, anchor watches, meal preparation, and daily logistics. Scholarships are available. Check the website or call Philadelphia City Sail for more information.
