The winner of our 2008 Parents' Picks quest to find the Best Best Indoor Playspace/Partyspace for Teens in Philadelphia, the 7,000-square-foot Philadelphia Rock Gym features one of the best Eldorado cliffs in the Northeast, as well as various difficulty climbing routes, a boulder cave, and a jam crack. With a strong emphasis on safety, either a safety/belay rope course needs to be taken or a test passed before climbers can mount the walls. The Introduction to Climbing Package includes the safety/belay lesson, equipment rental, and a day pass making it a good deal. Climbing rates are available by the day, or in five-, 10-, or 15-visit punch passes. Memberships are available on either the individual or family level and may run for a certain number of months or a full year. Birthday parties at Philadephia Rock Gym include free equipment rental, two hours of climbing, pizza, drinks, and more. Half- and full-day summer climbing camp programs are available for kids age five and up.
