Cost:Skis and snowboards rent for $22. Lift tickets are $26 during the week and $31 on weekends and holidays. There is a beginner area for $20; children 6 under are $10.

about Pine Knob:

One of the few ski hills in metro Detroit, Pine Knob offers ski and snowboarding lessons, including a program for children ages 5-10. There are student discounts during the week from 3pm to close. Season passes are available.

getting there:

Located east of Sashabaw Road, just south of Clarkston Rd. From I-75, use the Sashabaw Road exit (89). From Sashabaw, turn right onto Clarkston Road, and make another right on Pine Knob Road.
