The Pine Lodge Ski Center at Chapin Forest Reservation has approximately six miles of groomed trails that will challenge Novice to Intermediate skiers; one mile of trail is lit nightly (weather permitting). Because four inches of snow is necessary for skiing, the ski center is opened and staffed when weather, snow accumulation, and conditions warrant.
Equipment rentals for cross-country skis and snowshoes are available at the center on a first-come, first-served basis. Ski rental includes ski boots (child size 10 to adult size 14), skis, and poles.
Ski lessons are available for all ages at the Pine Lodge Ski Center. Lake Metroparks manages (and grooms) several additional miles of cross-country trails at Girdled Road Reservation in Concord Township. Trails at Penitentiary Glen Reservation in Kirtland provide skiers with the opportunity to ski on un-groomed trails.

Exit I-90 at SR 306; travel south for 3.5 miles to Chardon Road (SR 6) and turn right, heading west for one mile to Hobart Road; turn right (north) on Hobart.
