Play is by far the best thing that has happened to our new family. I'm getting ready to enroll my son in his third session of classes, and couldn't be happier. He's just blossomed in his Play classes through his interactions with other children and the great teachers. What better way to start his love for music than a weekly class!

I have rediscovered PLAY with my second child and I am loving it more than ever. The new PLAY Music classes are incredible. I don't think I could have made it through another round of "Music Together". These songs are sophisticated yet really fun for the kids. Our teacher, Keith, is incredible. The kid's are mesmerized by his electric guitar, easy going nature and playfulness. The place itself is just as wonderful -- the most amazing wooden toys for the kids to be creative with. And with your PLAY Music membership you can access the creative area for fun anytime. I love it -- and clearly my little boy does too. HIGHLY RECOMMEND this place - and the music classes - for children looking for fun.

Play is my favorite place in LA to go with my toddler, and I've been taking her there since she was about 8 months old. A lot of indoor play places are massively stimulating, with florescent lights, big ball bins, etc. Play has a different vibe altogether. When you enter, it's naturally lit, with natural-fiber rugs and chairs and an enormous mural on one wall of green trees in a forest. It's surprisingly soothing considering there are usually kids running every which way. Don't get me wrong, there are lots of toys for the kids to play with -- as well as a big train set and a wonderful bookshelf -- and the kids clearly love it, but overall there's just a mellow, relaxed energy that's really nice for the inevitably stressed-out parents. I think it also helps prevents the kids from going into psycho mode, because I've never seen a meltdown there. There's a big community table where you can have a snack and that's where I always chat with the other moms and dads, share information, or vent! My daughter and I have taken three Music Together classes and she is crazy about them. Overall I consider Play to be one of the most important resources I have as a parent -- they offer great activities, concerts and classes, as well as a lovely, fun environment that helps so much when you need to get yourself and your little ones out of the house.

PLAY is a great "destination" for me and my energetic 2 year old. As recent NY transplants to the neighborhood, my daughter and I were eager to meet other parents and kids her age and Play has been the place for that...generally everyone knows each other and there is a warm rapport between parents and with the thoughtful owners, Anne and James. We started with the noncommittal Messy Art (drop in) and then took our first weekly Music Together class in January. It has been a weekly destination and a familiar routine that we BOTH look forward to. After music class we sit at the communal table where my daughter can eat snacks with other kids and I can just chat and hang out with other moms!
This place is a real "gem" in this neighborhood!!!

We have been going to Play for over a year now. It is in our neighborhood and we can walk to it from Park La Brea and we LOVE it! My husband and I both work full time, so the weekend is our family time and we start off our weekend at Play on Saturday mornings. I can go on and on ... Music Together class is what we started with a year ago and we are still singing/dancing and our teacher Sarah is the BEST! There are other teachers too and they all are very good with different styles! After class, we often have a snack around the table, this is a time for us to chat with other parents and for our daughter to experience social interactions with other kids. We have started our own collection of paintings by our 2 year old Van Gough ... Messy Art is perfect and you don't need to worry about anything (having enough colors, papers, brush, easle, smocks to cover up their pretty clothes and getting colors everywhere in your house)! We are also shoppers at Play, we love that puzzles, books, music CDs or instruments, Melissa & Doug's & Plan toys are all well stock, we have bought birthday and holiday presents for kids and our own. The community play area is also GREAT ... there are books, train table, dinosaurs, etc. Need I say more ... a wonderful place to be! James and Anne created a fabulous place! Thank you!

I absolutely love going to Play with my son! I have been bringing him to Music Together classes there since he was six months old and now he's just over 2 yrs. old. He has learned so much from the music classes there and has strengthened his love of music and playing instruments. They also host special music events that we have participated in as well as we've always enjoyed them. Their selection of quality toys, children's CD's, and music instruments is wonderful & we shop there often. We moved out of the area and tried another Music Together class in the valley, and did not like it, so I go all the way back to WeHo just to go to Play's MT class - it's a fabulous place!

Play is a wonderful place to hang out, take music classes with GREAT teachers, make art and so much more. Both our kids love it there; it's a fun, friendly, clean environment - good healthy snacks, fun toys to play with (or buy) and lots of books to read. My son has been taking Music Together there for 2 1/2 years and just loves the routine of music class first, then playing with the train table afterwards. The space allows you to keep an eye on your child, yet still be able to chat with other adults at the same time.
Ann & James (the owners) are so very friendly and helpful; they have created a friendly, warm, relaxing environment for kids & parents to hang out and have a good time. Nice open play space -which they keep very clean, too. Highly recommend checking this place out if you haven't yet....

Play is wonderful! My 2 1/2 year old daughter has been taking Music Together classes there since she was about 9 months old. All of the teachers are truly excellent! My daughter loves to hang in the play space after class. They have a great selection of toys and books and an area to eat snacks. It's great to have a contained space for the kids to play safely and the caregivers can interact with adults too! Play also has good prices on Melissa & Doug toys and CDs. The space is very clean, and James & Anne are exceptionally friendly.

We have been taking Music Together at Play for almost two years and my daughter absolutely loves it. One of the nice things about the class is that there is new music every session so the songs stay fresh for the kids. The play area is a nice option after the class to mix things up or on a rainy day. Overall, great spot.

This is my neighborhood 'kid' place. Lucky me. Run by super nice, down-to-earth people, we're welcome to take a class or just hang out seemingly endlessly. Big enough to provide options and entertainment (many classes w/diff teachers, infinite number of engaging toys, art and books) but small enough to be manageable...you can actually watch yr kids play AND have a conversation. A nice group of patrons, too. And, clean. Always, super clean. A really welcome escape when home isn't cutting it anymore. My kids have gone to the classes from about 12 mo to now (2.5 yrs) and it's even more interesting. I hope it stays that way until college.

The best place for kids in town!
We've been taking music or art classes here since my daughter was one. The music classes are wonderful and small, the free art really lets the kids explore their imaginations and the free space provides them with lots of toys and books. We recently held her 3rd birthday party there - best decision we ever made! Wonderful and warm staff. Its a gem in the Miracle Mile area.

I absolutely love the time I have spent at Play with my son. We started taking Music Together classes with Sarah when he was 9 months old. I work full time and had a hard time finding a place that offered a full schedule of classes, I was very impressed with the full roster at Play. I made a commitment to spend that time with my son every week and it has become the highlight of my week. My son has a love of music and dance that is a joy to behold and I know it is due to Sarah�s rocking class! I have made new friends and we love to spend time after class watching the kids play and getting advice from one another. Anne and James have done a fantastic job creating a space for kids and their parents to spend time together.

This tot hot spot has a little bit of everything for kids & parents alike. Music, art, healthy treats, toys, books, a clean relaxing atmosphere ... and better still, a great selection of Melissa & Doug toys & puzzles, ideal for one stop shopping for your little one, not to mention all those birthday parties looming around the corner. This boutique play spot will forever hold a special place in my heart because it was here at 5 months old that my son was introduced to music through their Music Together class taught by Sarah Peters and at 21/2, his undying love for music ... and Sarah ... blossoms everyday. The atmosphere at Play is so refreshing, as the clientele reflects the staff ... warm, friendly, kind & conscientious. I can't imagine a better environment for us to spend our time & make new friends.

We have taken many, many classes at Play. After moving from the westside to Burbank, we've continued taking classes there because nothing else has come close to our amazing messy mixed media art classes. We've done portraits with Orit Harpaz, music class, attended special crafty workshops and we've had a wonderful time. The staff is amazing with the children and parents. The environment is very welcoming and comfortable. I can't say enough good things about it.

Play provides inspiring music and art programs as well as unique live music events to engage parent and child. The owners Anne and James Saxenmeyer have created a cool living room vibe in the main play area where they play a diverse mix of music from Peter Himmelman to the Beatles. The space is beautifully thought out with a great range of toys, books and Thomas train table as well as a snack bar offering healthy snacks, drinks and milk. The Messy Art room has a wall-to-wall blackboard for chalking and the most incredible skyline photo of Downtown Los Angeles. Play also custom creates birthday parties. Anne created an Under the Sea Art and Dance Party as well as face painting lounge and party favors for my daughters 4th birthday. An amazing time was had by all. Do not miss Sarah Peters Music Together classes... they are energetic and fun, fun, fun! There should be a Play in every city. It is a special place created by incredibly creative people.

This place is like home away from home. I bring my kids just to get out of the house, for drum circles, music class, and art. My daughter had her second b-day party here and ai was told it was the best party ever. Play did it all. It is also a great community of moms and kids. The staff is very talented and the toys are great. It is also a great place to buy art supplies and learning materials and gifts too. I love it.

a great selection of books, train table and other fun toys, but still small enough so you don't have to chase your child around and can socialize with other moms. also very clean!

...Together classes here for a couple of years. There is a fantastic class for 3-4 year olds-The staff is great. We have felt very welcome here from day one!

My 19 month-old and I have been taking Music Together at Play for the past year, and we love it! We also spend a lot of time in the playspace, which is hip, safe, full of fun toys and immaculately clean. (They actually wash all the toys every night!) It's a great place to chat with other parents. My son painted his first painting in their Messy Art classes--much easier than dealing with a mess of paint at home. The sweet owners, James and Anne, are full of helpful advice about everything from pleasant kids' music to buying discounted Thomas trains on ebay.

My toddler and I spend a lot of time at this cute, contemporary hot spot for infants and young ones. They have an assortment of fun toys for play and for sale. Great music playing which is also for sale, healthy snacks and a table with little chairs for lunch or snack-time. We've been taking Music Together classes here since it opened and my child loves it. I look forward to taking the Messy Art classes when he's a little older and shows more interest in art. The dance parties and special holiday events are also lots of fun. We're also very fond of the owners, James and Anne who've created a sweet, safe environment for kids and parents, too! We only wish they were open past 4pm on weekdays!

My 19 month-old has been participating in the Music Together classes since he was 6 months old, and we both love them. The play space is also just really nice and easy for little ones, and great to just chat with other parents who might be there on any given day. Use of the space is free if enrolled in a music class. A food table with mini high-chairs is great for lunch or snack time, and the people who run the place are very easy going and friendly. Messy Art is really fun too, and they have great live music events, besides the classes, which are also free to members, or with music class enrollment.

I take my 2 yr old daughter to this joint every once in a while and she always has a great time. They have a good selection of play things, funky kid music and generally an environment free of roughhousing that is great for young babies through prekinders. It's small, but not claustrophobic, and is contemporary IKEA clean. It's also so NOT free anymore but I find the $5 fee reasonable for the fun my tyke has in their play area. I've also enrolled in a session of the Music Together class. Sarah was a fabulous, energetic song leader and the eclectic MT tunes had my daughter singing even in her sleep. Oh, and they have healthy snacks (muffins, cookies, crackers) and juices.
