A beautiful 26 acre campus with tennis courts, playing fields, pools and fitness center make Poly unusually equipped to offer an environment in which an urban young person can enjoy the oudoors.

Poly boasts a diverse student body, representing the true cultural mosaic of New York City. Students travel on Poly buses from Manhattan, Queens, Staten Island, and Brooklyn for a full day's program in academics, athletics, and activities. Two afternoon buses are offered so that students can stay as late as 6pm to take advantage of all that a country day school has to offer.

The Lower School, for grades N-4, is located at 50 Prospect Park West.

The Poly Prep Summer Program allows children ages three to 17 to participate in activities ranging from swimming and softball to cookouts, chorus, robotics, and relay races. The school is wonderful BUT they need to get rid of the trash. The 8th grade boys think who they are and all they are is bullies. Not very nice. I don't know who bought them up. Get rid of the trash not the nice kids.

I'm a senior at Poly this year, been here for 8 years and I absolutely love it. Poly is an incredibly socially active school. I hear about students fund raising or raising awareness for various charities all the time. I appreciate how open every member of the administration is, especially the Dean of the Upper School, Mr. Cox. Academics are very strong, with most kids taking AP classes throughout their high school careers. It is blessed with a beautiful campus, but students and teachers actually make use of it unlike some other schools, with pond studies in science classes and frequent classes outside in the spring. The only downside for me is that it's located in Bay Ridge, which is a kind of odd neighborhood. However, the fact that almost all kids ride school buses (one in the morning, one at 4 PM and one at 6 PM) from locations all around NYC means a much more diverse group of people than the surrounding area would suggest.

Poly's new administration has done a lot to help it outgrow its old stereotypes, as student leadership has really been encouraged in things like the Honor Council and environmental club.

Amazing campus and facilities...one of the nicest oustide of Riverdale. Teachers and administration are trying hard but the Jock element means that the student body can be single-minded and limiting

Poly is an excellent school academically. The social structure however is lackluster. Its not really diverse enough and lots of the student body are close minded individuals as well as many of the athletic coaches. If this school wasn't so far from Manhattan it would probably be better off all around.

The only reason that Poly Prep didnt receive 5 stars from me is that the campus is so large, the "family feeling" is hard to come buy. The size of the school is large, and though it is beautiful, it can be slightly intimidating. Also, students should not have to be subject to a dresscode everyday of their high school career.

Poly was the perfect school for both my daughters and my son and they are all loving it. The only tihng they are not happy with is the work, but that needs to be done and it will help them in the end. The school is very diverse and has amazing facilities with everything from a new science building, tons of fields and a fitness center to a beautiful theatre and ceramics studios. It is a vey impressive school.
