Tucked away in beautiful Poway valley, on the northern outskirts of the city of San Diego, lies the Pomerado Hospital campus, owned and operated by the Palomar Pomerado Health System. Pomerado is a 107-bed acute care facility. The hospital is licensed by the California Department of Health, and accredited by the Joint Commission on Accreditation of Healthcare Organizations. The Behavioral Medicine Center is the only program in San Diego County to address the psychiatric and physical needs of patients. The 107-bed hospital also offers a 24-hour Emergency Department, family friendly Birth Center, a Level II Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU), cardio-pulmonary services, partial hospitalization program for seniors, a Wound Management Program, and general medical/surgical services. The family-friendly birth center provides new mothers with labor, delivery, and recovery care in one comfortable private suite, or in a separate recovery and post-partum bedroom designed to provide privacy and aid mother/child bonding.
