Today my wife and sister-in-law attempted to get a photo of our daughter and niece for my parents. Here is the background; in November our child turned 3 months old and we took her to Portrait Innovations to get her pictures taken and spent $150 on photos. The Portrait Innovations special is advertised at $9.95 for a photo package (obviously used to get people in the door) but that was not what we were concerned with based on our purchase. This brings me to today; my sister-in-law made the reservation for todayâ??s session and during the session, my baby was recognized as being at the location a month prior by one of the photographers. This picture session was for my mother and since she was going to pay for it, clearly the $9.95 value package was not her utmost concern. After the photos were taken we were called to the viewing screen and as it was about time to pick pictures, the girl who was showing the photos proceeded to instruct us that because my child was there a month ago any picture with her in the photo could not be apart of a $9.95 package and we would have to order pictures separately. Keep in mind we did not tell her what pictures we were going to purchase or what we were planning on spending. This girl proceeded to judge us as only wanting the $9.95 special. (Now the best part of this was the crowd that had formed in the lobby waiting for pictures clearly was not from Brookfield, Elm Grove, New Berlin or Waukesha and did not represent the "affluent" community this studio is located in, my family on the other hand did not fit into the same mix but we were treated as if we were.) At this moment of being judged the girl who was showing the pictures decided to call over her "supervisor" to better inform us on how we could make this process work. This heavy set lady proceeds to come over to our viewing area and tell us "you canâ??t have the $9.95 package" as if this was rehearsed. Keep in mind we hadnâ??t picked our pictures. After 10 minutes of being told our child couldnâ??t be in the pictures for a $9.95 package (not even wanting the $9.95 package) my wife and I were offended and left the store with out making a purchase. My advice to anyone looking for photos is to find a professional photograph that will work with you and help get the pictures that will last a lifetime. Portrait Innovations is clearly a "cash cow" operation that rushes photos, and could care less about its clients. My opinion based on the cliental, this place is geared towards the lower class with a very limited income. As a consumer that spends money in Brookfield, this is a terrible establishment and poor reflection on Brookfield Square Mall and is contributing to the demise of the once affluent Brookfield Shopping community.

I would've never thought that taking pictures of your kids (4 and 1 year olds) in a studio would be such a horrible experience. We arrived right on time for our appointment, and had to wait for 30 min. When we got in, the girl clearly was more focused on quantity than quality! When I asked her to give us a moment to calm down my 1 year old, she said we are really pushed on time and we have to keep shooting. So, I got a series of pictures of my 1 year old crying, me trying to calm him down, and of my 4 year old looking lost on the picture. (So much for taking a memory picture with your kids.) When we got to the ordering part, it was rush rush rush. I didn't like the fact that you had to purchase 3 sheets of each picture that you liked and they didn't really give you any other choices (I am sure there are other ways/packages you can purchase your pictures). It all seemed like a money machine, IN and OUT.

My family of 4 made an appt. to have our picture taken for our Christmas cards. We were given a photographer, Jason, who was obviously new. He had no idea what background to use, how to place people, gave no instruction like "chin up, move in closer", etc. He put our taller daughter in front of me instead of my husband, so my face was partially blocked on a lot of the pictures. My younger daughter was standing next to my husband, but her upper half wasn't leaning into him, so she looked like someone that just came and stood in our picture.
We saw other photographers whisper things to him, but no one came to give him the help he needed on how to set up a picture. The result was a 10 minute session, and 69 pictures of us that were horrible - and Jason knew he had screwed up. We asked for a reshoot, and his response was "We're booked for the day, you'll have to make an appt. for another day".
So there we were, having taken time out of our day - done the hair, had on the clothes, and no pictures. I was so mad, but my kids were there, so I didn't want to make a scene. I left the store and called from the car to talk to the manager, but all you get is a central appt. scheduling place - the phone number is not directly to the store. I had to leave a message for the customer service manager, and it's the next day, and I still haven't heard from her.
