PBRC offers beginning, intermediate and advanced lessons in English-style riding and Hunter/Jumpers. Children ages six and up - and adults - are welcome. The facility offers a beautiful and relaxed environment in the hills of Palos Verdes, and provides safety equipment & tack, as well as lesson horses and ponies. Several instructors are available, each concentrating on a different level of riding. The club is making a special effort to extend more hours to beginners, expecially during the summer months. Lessons run year round, including weekend days. Call to schedule an initial evaluation lesson (60 minutes, $50), during which the student is introduced to the facility, instructed in safety and care of the horses (including grooming and tacking), and does some initial riding so that he/she can be placed at the appropriate lesson level. The student may work with the instructor through several of these lessons, until both student and instructor are confident and comfortable that the student can handle the horse on his/her own. After the evaluation and "comfort level" have been achieved, the student has several different lesson options: Private Lesson, 60 minutes: $80
Private Lesson, 30 minutes: $45
Group Lesson (3-5 students), 60 minutes: $45
Semi-Private Lesson (2 students), 45 minutes: $45 The entirety of these lessons are devoted to riding, and the student should plan on arriving approximately 30 minutes early to groom and tack up their horse to be at the arena at the start of the lesson time. Special Activites during the year include several "Ground Management" and Horse Care workshops, a summer camp for kids, and a yearly Horse Show at the Facility, usually in July.
