The
St. Louis Symphony Orchestra performs its regular season inside
Powell Symphony Hall, once a former vaudeville and movie palace built in 1925. The hall was acquired in the 1960s and, after an
extensive renovation, opened its doors in 1968 as the new 2,689-seat home of the symphony. It is located within the
Grand Center arts district.
Powell Symphony Hall gained further prominence in 2001, when it was entered into the
National Register of Historic Places. Free
one-hour tours of the hall can be arranged by calling 314.286.4104.
