Why on Earth would people do such a thing? Because it's one of the best places around to hear authentic New Orleans jazz music, played by artists both young and old. Besides, if it weren't for the stifling heat and the lack of comfortable seating, the line wouldn't move at all - folks would park themselves in front of the band for the entire evening.
