Preston's H.O.P.E. Playground is a fully accessible 60,000 square foot playground that includes Imagination Village, a two-story town full of kid-size houses and stores, connected by an accessible walkway.
The playground includes elements for not only physically impaired, but Braille labels and auditory elements for vision impaired guests.
A play theatre, a sand and water area, and a covered pavillion add (even more) broad-reaching appeal.
The story behind Preston's H.O.P.E. Playground is a good one, too. H.O.P.E. is an acronym for Helping Others Play and Enjoy. The playground was envisioned by Jackie and Ken Fisher, parents of Preston, who was born with a genetic disorder that requires him to play from a wheelchair.
The playground was constructed largely thanks to generous donations from area builders and other businesses, and is located on the property of the The Mandel JCC, however, membership in the JCC is not required to enter Preston's H.O.P.E. Playground.

I think Preston H.O.P.E is a wonderful place for children with special needs.I have a three year old with Down'syndrome and is not able to run around like other kids.Once I took him to this park I knew it was perfect for him and his seven year old sister (Kelly).
I have 2 daughters. My youngest is 6 and the oldest is 12. My oldest has special needs and is wheel chair bound. She was really looking forward to going on the swings but there were no safety harnesses on them. She is not able to sit up by herself and needs a harness for support and safety. Otherwise the park was enjoyable. I just wish my oldest could have experienced more.
This playground does just what it was designed to do. It allows children of all abilities to play together. You and your child will be impressed by all there is to do at PRESTON'S HOPE. The playground is clean, and well-maintained. The one time i had a concern, i received an email back in less than 30 minutes saying it would be taken care of (and it was) Enjoy your time here....go early in the day though, it tends to get busy as the day goes on.
