about Progressive Field, Home of the Cleveland Indians:

Dubbed "The Jake" by Jacobs Field fans, one of Major League Baseball's coolest parks, was renamed Progressive Field in 2008.

Regardless of the name of the field, going to a Cleveland Indians' game is an experience every fan will long remember. But just how old that fan should be before he (or she) will enjoy the game is a question only you, the parent, can answer.

We recommend you leave your newborn with a sitter unless you plan to hold him during the whole game. (There simply isn't much room for even a skinny carseat/stroller between the seats.)

Important notes for families with babies or toddlers: although umbrella strollers are allowed inside the stadium, regular strollers must be checked at the gate. Diaper changing stations are available in three family restrooms, located behind Section 119, 551, and 546.

When you take the family to a game, we suggest you stop by Heritage Park, located in the center field area of Progressive Field. Available to fans before, during and after games, and for special events throughout the season, Heritage Park serves as the Indians Hall of Fame and a club history museum. Every Sunday game day is Kids Fun Day, when giveaways are offered (while supplies last) for all kids age 14 and under, pregame plaza activities help young fans "warm up" for the game, and kids can run the bases following the game.

Also, be sure to have your camera at the ready for a few shots at the mega mascot Slider Bench in Kidsland. The huge fiberglass statue affixed to a bench allows fans of all ages the opportunity to pose next to the Tribe?s popular mascot. The bench is located in Pronkville near the Mezzanine.

Another stop for the short set seeking souvenirs: the Kids' Team Shop, located on the main concourse in the right field corner near Kidsland, is stocked with items geared for younger fans.

Single-game tickets can be purchased at www.indians.com, Ticketmaster locations (including most Giant Eagle grocery stores and Kaufman's locations), and at Indians Team Shop locations (Great Lakes Mall, Great Northern, Midway Mall, Southpark Center, and Summit Mall), and by phone (866.488.7423).
