Housed in a modern and well-equipped building, Tribeca's popular PS 234 boasts a lovely library, auditorium, and gym. The school does not use textbooks, workbooks, or grades, but instead asks children to keep diaries and read literature and non-fiction.
Letters from teachers replace report cards. Students stay with the same teacher for two years as they progress from grades K to 1, 2 to 3 and 4 to 5.
