The Earth School's roof top garden and the indefatigable passion of its founders, families and staff demonstrate how persistence can succeed when a good idea comes into contact with seemingly insurmountable bureaucratic constraints.

As a Slow Food NYC board member, I'm proud of my organization's support for the Earth School. The Earth School model is something that brings environmental and food literacy to school children. This model should be adapted across the board throughout the New York City public school system. Well-funded, privileged private and charter schools should not be the only ones that provide such a critical element of the educational menu.

The Earth school is the best(free) school in NYC. If you are looking for a school that promotes diversity, teaches the whole child (not just to the test)than look no further. my children have hit the jackpot getting into this school. my daughter graduated and got her first pick school choice(TSMS) in the same building. I wouldn't look anywhere else to educate my children. I also have a child with special needs and he couldnt be in a better learning enviornment. They love it, I mean hate to miss a day. j.Limage
