Rainbow, based in Brookings, South Dakota, manufactures and sells gorgeous high-end all-wood playsets. Families can choose from an almost bewildering array of "castles" and "clubhouses" - different combinations of slides, swings, ladders, and penthouses (play spaces perched at the top of the structure). Lots of add-ons like wheels, talk tubes, and tic-tac-toe panels are available, too. Quality is top-notch - the wood is smooth non-chemically treated redwood, all chains are dipped in PVC to prevent finger pinching, hardware is recessed, play surfaces are constructed without fasteners, and plastic components are UV treated to prevent fading.
