I have been visiting Recess since it first opened and I have never been disappointed. Children know that this is their space. A myriad of choices are broken up into separate spaces so
a child can cook in a play kitchen,watch a puppet show, draw, dance, read, climb, tumble or swing. The layout is creative and inventive in ways most appealing to little ones. The cafe with it's tall- stool seating and workspaces gives parents a chance to chat or work while keeping a watchful eye on their children. I love this place and happily recommend parents and children give it a try.

I can't say enough good things about Urban Recess! Happy moms, happy kids. It's the only space I know of that caters to the needs of both. Messy art room for your three year old? Yes. Yummy lattes for mom? Yes. Expansive, clean play areas? Yes. Pilates? Yes. Magical Forest? Yes. Massage. Yes. You won't be disappointed. My only complaint is that there is only one of them! It's a fantastic spot.

We LOVE Recess. I honestly don't know how we would have survived the first 2 years of my 2nd child's life without it! Having a place where both our children could play and explore - despite the 2 year age difference - was invaluable. I didn't have to worry about my 2 year old running off while I nursed my infant (won't go into detail on the nightmare that those few months were at parks...). The co-founders and the staff are warm and relaxed. The other members are friendly. The space is huge and gives kids lots of room to explore new things. I'm a huge fan of the pilates classes. Truly can't say enough about how much we love Recess!

We've been coming to recess since our son was 12 months old, and it's been a wonderful space to watch him learn, play and grow. The staff is friendly, the owners Lisa and Kristin are great, and it's still the first place we think to go on a rainy day and many a sunny one too. Not only do they offer art and music classes for the kids, but they have Pilates classes for moms and dads with child-minding for a very nominal fee available while you attend the class. I've been doing Pilates at recess for over a year and half now and I credit it for getting my post-C-section body back into shape. There's also a charming cafe, Wi-Fi for working parents, a dance space for the little ones and plenty of books, toys and trains. There's even an indoor swing and a slide! I can't recommend recess enough.
