about Red Rocks Amphitheatre:

A truly stunning site for a concert or a movie, Red Rocks offers legendary accoustics in a breathtaking setting. Seating is on wood benches without backs so it can get a bit uncomfortable if you're there for a long time. Consider bringing a blanket or cushion.

Visitors can hike up to the Amphitheatre during the day for a visit as long as no concert or other special event is scheduled for the evening hours. The paths, though relatively steep, are paved and have handrails in most spots. The views from inside the theater are stunning, both of the Denver skyline and of the amazing crimson rocks that tower vertically around the venue.

If you're thinking of taking a hike through the park, the Trading Post loop hiking trail is 1.4 miles in length and goes through spectacular rock formations, valleys, and a natural meadow. Some of the terrain is rough, so hiking boots/shoes are recommended.

Hikers should also be prepared for adverse weather conditions as the weather can change very quickly. The trail is 6,280 feet above sea level, so persons with health conditions may wish to consult a doctor before attempting the hike.

If children are joining the hike, provide good supervision, as some areas of the trail are drop-offs, steep grades, and road crossings.

tips:

The Amphitheatre and Visitor Center close in the afternoon of concert days for sound checks, etc. The park remains open.
