about Rhinelander Children's Center:

Part of The Children's Aid Society, Rhinelander's mission is to foster social growth, creativity, academic success, and skill development among children from a broad range of backgrounds.

Rhinelander's popular Early Childhood Program includes Singing Siblings (for ages six months to four years), Steppin' Out (12 to 18 months), Toddler Time (18 to 36 months), Music, Art, Computers, Cooking, and an Enrichment Workshop Nursery School Alternative (for three- and four-year-olds). Early Childhood classes run Monday-Friday between 9am-2pm.
,br> Rhinelander's Nursery School, for children ages 30 months to five years, mixes traditional and progressive educational approaches to ensure school readiness. The school's three sunny classrooms house areas for reading, block-building, art, science, and imaginative play. Rooftop decks provide outdoor play space. The Nursery School is a member of ISAAGNY. Applications are available from the day after Labor Day through November 1, each year, for the following September.

The Afterschool Program is open to children in kindergarten through 6th grade. Children are divided in age-appropriate "clubs," and teachers provide snack and homework assistance before children enjoy outdoor play and other activities. The choice of specialty activities includes acting, chorus, ceramics, dance, science, painting and drawing, and computers. Bus pick-up is available from several nearby schools. The Afterschool program runs from 3pm-6pm every school day.

Many Saturdays during the school year, Rhinelander hosts a Saturday Program for Deaf Children and Teens. This free recreational program is open to all deaf children and teens ages five to 20 in New York City, and includes trips to NYC museums and cultural attractions, as well as a range of arts activities at Rhinelander.

Summer Programs at Rhinelander include a mini-camp for children ages three to five and a range of Early Childhood Program classes. Children ages six to 12 may travel by bus from Rhinelander to Wagon Road Camp in Chappaqua, NY, which is operated by the Children's Aid Society. Located in a bucolic setting, Wagon Road fosters a love of the outdoors and a chance to develop skills in the arts, swimming, sports, horsemanship, and more.
