about Rhodes Hall:

Rhodes Hall is one of the last remaining great mansions that once lined Peachtree Street. The turn-of-the-century house is the headquarters of the Georgia Trust for Historic Preservation, which also operates it as a house museum for the public. Two tours are available:

The Historical Tour lasts 45 minutes and covers the first floor of the monumental 1904 granite castle and former home of furniture magnate Amos Rhodes. Families can view the fine woodwork, mosaic tile fireplaces, decorative finishes, and art glass, and learn about life in Atlanta at the turn of the century.

Behind-the-scenes tours are offered only on Sundays, and run one hour and 15 minutes in length. In addition to the first floor, the tour takes visitors to upper floors of the house not included on the regular guided tours. Families can explore Rhodes Hall in its entirety, including the tower that used to be the Rhodes grandchildren's playroom, and the former billiard room and gymnasium on the third floor of the "castle on Peachtree Street." Visitors also can view the Midtown skyline from the four-story tower.
