There's something for everyone at this large west metro library: a large, well-equipped children's section set apart from the rest of the library, with rows of computers, a cushy seating area in addition to chairs, and an extensive collection of shelved offerings for all levels of readers; a dedicated, high-tech zone that teens can call their own; and for parents, an on-site Dunn Bros. cafe!
Ridgedale is one of only five Hennepin County Library branches to offer Sunday hours, and the family entertainment, storytimes, and events also surpass the offerings at many other HCL locations. Automated machines speed checkout and the staff is always ready to help. There's even an ATM.
The Library Bookstore next to the cafe sells discards and donations. Hours: Mon 10:30am-8pm; Tue-Wed 10:30am-6pm; Thu-Fri 10:30am-4pm.
tips:
Club Kid is just across Plymouth Road from the library, if you want (or need!) some time to yourself to run errands while you're in this neighborhood.
getting there:
Just south of Ridgedale Mall. Large parking lots flank the entrance, but a space can still be hard to come by at busy times. Additional parking in ramps along the west side of the building for the attached Hennepin County Service Center handle the overflow.
