The Ritz Theater is a redevelopment gem in the Northeast, providing a new state-of-the-art 240-seat multi-use performance space for resident company Ballet of the Dolls, and other local dance, theater, music, and community organizations. The theater was originally built as movie palace in the mid-1920s, and, in its heyday, was a social center for the Sheridan neighborhood. Its reopening in Spring 2006 fuels the ongoing neighborhood revitalization efforts that have turned the area into a mecca for artists and arts organizations. Educational programming is planned for the site as well.
