Riverview Park, an urban public park nestled between several neighborhoods just north of downtown Pittsburgh, offers an equestrian trail, an extensive network of muli-purpose trails, a swimming pool, ball fields, and picnic shelters.

The park is also home to the landmark Allegheny Observatory and a fantastic, space-themed playground, located near the observatory. The playground includes a Cosmic Climber, a Galaxy Finder Play Area, and a pathway that represents a comet's tail. Concrete bands radiate from a yellow sun at Sun Central to concrete stars depicting the five brightest stars of the night sky. Sun Central also features a picnic pavilion, game tables, and water fountains.
