An 1860s townhouse and garden once owned by the Rosenbach brothers is now home to the Rosenbach Museum and Library. Jam packed with rare books and decorative arts, the Rosenbach is a book lover's dream. The collection includes an entire section on Maurice Sendak's classic children's book Where The Wild Things Are, and the museum often hosts fun and educational kid's events; check the museum's website for details and a complete schedule.
The Rosenbach's museum store, called the Little Library, offers a variety of items relating to the collections - everything from signed first editions of Maurice Sendak's books, to scholarly editions of Ulysses, to cards printed with illustrations from Alice in Wonderland. The shop is open during museum hours.
