about Roxanne's:

Roxanne's is a haven for families seeking relief from the busy Union Square scene. A quaint little cafe just uphill from all those shoppers, it's quiet, charming, and tolerant of visitors who need a place to retreat. From its perch on the corner, you can sip hot cocoa and watch the cable cars crawl by. Although the food is not remarkable (expect many egg dishes, sandwiches, salads, good bread, and homefries), it is a step above diner fare.

tips:

Make it the last stop on a Union Square shopping excursion. It's just uphill from Border's Books and the Disney Store on Powell, and two blocks to the Sutter/Stockton garage on Bush.

getting there:

The cross street is Bush. Cable car (Powell Street Line), Muni 31, 38. Metered street parking is almost impossible to find down here; park at the Sutter/Stockton Garage or Union Square Garage and walk.
