Ruffner Mountain is a 1,011-acre nature preserve with a visitor center that serves as home to 25 native Alabama animals including raptors, snakes, turtles, frogs, salamanders, and mammals. Mining relics found on the mountain can also be seen here.
The nature center hosts a variety of educational programs, including nature camps, take place throughout the year for all ages.
Family membership is $45/year.
