Dear Yuhri-diculous: Josh Ryer is a man of integrity, honesty, and compassion. His constant involvement in the community and helping those less fortunate (all the time) speak for itself as far as his character. He has hosted many fundraising events for things such as Ray's Hope Foundation, putting together a fundraiser for a local family who lost their home to a fire, donating clothing/school supplies to childrens homeless shelters, just to name a few. So to make a comment like you did about his character is just ridiculous, and completely untrue. He is also an incredible martial artist and teacher, motivator and friend. He is always learning more, and always training, and always sharing his knowledge with anyone who is willing to learn. Thank you, Josh and staff, for providing me with fantastic instruction, a great/clean (and just overall phenomonal facility), and constant motivation. I love being on the mat with Josh Ryer! May you have much deserved success!

I have known Mr. Ryer since college and have trained by him during that period. I have nothing but good things to say about him. He can never spend enough time dedicating his time and energy to be a great Kenpo instructor. As a matter of fact, he went out of his way to help me with an RA (Resident Assistant) program by teaching some self-defense technics to my residents in college. I am also grateful until this day that he has gone out of his way for me. Mr. Ryer one of the most patient people I have ever met and needless to say that he is great with kids as well. My name speaks for the diversity of his school.

It is amazing how one person can have such a different view of what Ryer Martial Arts academy has to offer or expects from it's students. Mr. Josh has never expected every student to perform the same or up to a certain fitness standard. He believes every student is an individual and he helps them to perform to the best of their ability. He is encourages students to set their own goals and go after them. Mr. Josh is a great role model for the students.

As a former student of Josh Ryer, I had to laugh at a previous review that claimed some very serious accusations! What else can you do but laugh! Anyone who knows Mr Ryer and has trained with him, knows that his character is of the finest caliber! Whoever the person was that posted it is nothing but an idiot!

Joshua Ryer is a world class Kenpo Instructor and a thorough Gentleman into the bargain , this is not the way he teaches it is total BS ,
I traveled from Ireland and taught in his school and both I and the rest of the Kenpo community hold him in High Regard.

I attended a seminar at Mr. Ryer's a few years ago. Mr. Ryer was a great host and welcomed all of the guests into his school. Anyone in the area who is looking for quality instructions should take the time to visit his school.

I am not sure who the individual who posted previously is, but as a former student of the school, I can say from years of first hand experience that Mr. Ryer has never discriminated against any student for any reason ever. Mr. Ryer is one of the most open and honest people I've had the honor of training with. He may ask you to try to push yourself, but he is never disapproving or angry if you can't. Saying he would have anything but the utmost compassion for individuals with handicaps shows this person's ignorance to Mr. Ryer and his school's involvement with Johnny Ray Molina and the Ray's Hope Foundation. And the thinly veiled attempt to call him racist is appalling. The ethnic diversity of the school and its trainers speaks for itself. I hope that any person who reads these reviews would see past the slanderous nature of the previous review and experience the school for themselves.

My daughter has been taking karate with Mr. Josh for a little over 4 years. Her confidence and ability has improved enormously and she loves going to karate. Mr. Josh is an amazing instructor. He has shown my daughter that dedication, discipline and respect not only help her in karate but in her everyday life. Ryer Martial Arts Academy is first class!

Great Martial Arts Academy, clean, fantastic instructors. I would recommend this martial arts academy to anyone. The instructors are very good with kids.

The great thing about Ryer Academy is not only the outstanding effort the instructors put in to teaching structured and wonderful classes, but also extends outside as well. The Ryer's are constantly reaching out to the community and are always the first to offer a helping hand to those in need. Thank you Ryer Academy for being a great example, and a wonderful helping hand!

Great place for children. Will learn respect, discipline and self defense.

Mr. Josh's knowledge and care goes beyond just teaching the kids in class. He also encourages and demands the children to use positive attitudes and behavior not only in the karate school, but outside the karate school and in everyday life. His "mat chats" with the children are perfect, and he is a wonderful role model for kids.

Excellent program for kids and adults alike. All the instructors are knowledgeable and respectful.

Our son has been taking karate classes at Ryer for four years and we couldn't be happier. Our younger children are waiting most impatiently to be old enough to take lessons too!

I cannot say enough good things about Josh Ryer and the Ryer Martial Arts Academy. Not only does Josh run a well-organized program, but he is an amazing instructor. His patience and calm demeanor earn the respect of his students, all the while making karate lots of fun.

Was not impressed with the cardio kickboxing at all, and there is no parking. I was a little hesitant walking my kids in the dark a pretty shady area.

Simply put, Josh Ryer is one of the most gifted teachers I've ever encountered. He has a way of intuitively knowing what each child needs. It takes a village to raise a child, and I'm eternally grateful to have Josh and his staff in our village.

Outstanding place for kids' karate - the instructor is patient and encouraging, my son loves it. Now if I could just find time to do the cardio-kickboxing afterwards!
