The Sabbathday Lake Shaker Village Museum & Library is part of the Sabbathday Lake Shaker Village, which has been an active community of Shakers since the 1780s. Shaker Sunday meeting is open to the public. Tours, exhibits, and a Shaker store are available. Check the calendar for crafts workshops and crafts demos as well as special events and activities like the Maine Festival of American Music, herb garden internships, Maine Open Farm Day, Friends of the Shakers Weekend, Nature Walks, Apple Saturdays, and the Christmas Fair.

Kids' favorites include the exhibits and audiotape about the children's life in the Shaker Museum Reception Center, the flock of sheep and the herd of Scottish Highland cattle.

Guided nature walks are fun for the whole family - include Loon's Point on Sabbathday Lake and the footbridge at Aurelia's Cascade. Apple Saturdays include pick-your-own. Swimming at Outlet Beach on Sabbathday Lake is open to the public.
