Sahuaro Ranch Park is conveniently located next to the Glendale Library. This park features ramadas that can be reserved in advance (to secure a place) or on a first come first served basis. The ramada areas have outlets to plug in electronic devices, a huge food serving and preparing area with a sink. The park itself is beautiful. There are orange, lemon, fig and grapefruit tree groves (not allowed to pick fruit), they have chickens that roam free in the ranch area, bunnies, peacocks, and other birds. They also have an enclosed area were they have geese and I think we have even seen a turkey there. It is a great place to have a picnic and to let your children come close to animals without having to take them out of the city to visit a farm. The park also has an area with grape vines, a cotton field, and one of the most beautiful and biggest rose gardens I have ever seen. There are benches to sit and enjoy the scenery. The park also has all of the common ammenities of your local park (benches, playgrounds, soccer fields, baseball fields, bathrooms, and they even have two dog parks) The park has a gate that allows you to enter into the Main library grounds. On a typical day I buy chiken feed at a pet supply store (very inexpensive), prepare a picnic and get my kids ready. We go to the park and pick an area to eat. After we eat we go feed the animals and when we run out of food we go to the library and get books and movies. Sometimes we come home right away or we go to the playground. My children love it!!!! and so do I.
