Historic
Sahuaro Ranch was once a thriving 640-acre homestead boasting figs and other fruit orchards, vineyards, fields of alfalfa, and date palms. Its 100-acre olive orchard and 20-acre orange orchard were among the first planted in the Valley.
Today, the city of Glendale owns 80 acres of the original ranch, including
17 acres of historical structures listed on the National Register of Historic Places.
Tours of the main house are available from September through May, Wed-Sat 10am-2pm and Sun 1pm-4pm. Tours last 30 minutes and are free. Summer tour hours vary; call before you go.
The park is open daily and offers a
playground, dog park, softball complex, soccer fields, volleyball courts, restrooms, and
picnic areas with ramadas. It hosts many
festivals and special events throughout the year.
