Founded in 1995, Saint Sophia School is associated with the Greek Orthodox Church, providing education for children from preschool to grade six. The school is accredited and follows the Utah State core curriculum. In addition to regular class offerings, students also learn computer skills, arts, and Greek language, culture, tradition, and religion.
Parents can expect small class sizes for their children, with student/teacher ratios averaging about 8:1. Classes are limited to 12 students.
Some other quick figures: Approximately 80 percent of the student body is Greek, and students typically place between the 80th and 90th percentile on standardized tests.
Prospective students are invited to call the school or drop by during the week for a tour. Preschool students must be at least three years old and toilet trained before enrolling. Pre-kindergarten and half-day kindergarten classes are available.
Tuition varies by age; see the website for details. Discounts are offered to members of the Orthodox Church.
