The San Antonio Children's Museum provides engaging hands-on experiences where "kids play to learn and adults learn to play." The museum offers three floors of interactive play exhibits, including the H-E-B Kids' Market, a Tot Spot dedicated to infants and toddlers 0 to 36 months, action-packed PowerBall Hall and weekly science and art activities for children ages 0 to 10.

In the H-E-B Kids Market kids learn about nutrition, the major food groups, and the importance of eating healthy balanced meals - lessons they can then take home and share with their families in this interactive play grocery store, modeled after a real H-E-B store.

The museum's new (2010) Tot Spot provides age-appropriate exhibits in a safe environment for the Museum's youngest visitors (0-36 months) and their caregivers, and features four interactive zones: Baby Zone for babies just learning to sit up, reach, pull, and crawl; Sensory Zone with a wide array of textures for toddlers eager to touch and explore; Gross Motor Zone for toddlers learning to walk, run, and maneuver; and Music Zone that encourages sound experimentation using drums, chimes, and other percussion instruments.

Throwing a birthday party at the museum is a piece of cake; party opportunities are available Tuesday through Sunday all summer (Memorial Day to Labor Day) and on Saturdays and Sundays during the school year (Labor Day to Memorial Day.)
