Climb aboard America's longest serving aircraft carrier, the USS Midway, which was commissioned in 1945 as the largest ship in the world and served until the 1992 war in Kuwait.
Visitors can view first-hand what life was like on the USS Midway by exploring the mess deck, berthing spaces, hangar deck, flight deck, and island superstructure. Even machine shops, post office, bomb assembly area, mission preparation, galley, bridge, and primary flight control are open to visitors.
The price of admission includes a self-guided audio tour. Docents, many of whom served on the USS Midway, are on board during the day to talk about the ship and to make the experience all the more enriching and interesting.
The museum is located aboard the historic USS Midway aircraft carrier, alongside Navy Pier in downtown San Diego.
