Its motto says it all: "To get any closer to sports, you'd have to suit up." This 70,000 square foot multi-sports museum showcases 40 different sports, hosts an athelete's Hall of Fame devoted to hometown heroes, and opens up an Archive of sports equipment used by the greats that kids are invited to touch. It also lets you buy sports memorabilia - surprise - at its Champion Sports Store. Best of all may be the interactive exhibits that allows kids to test their own athletic prowess.
Junior Champions: Kids in eighth grade and lower can, for $20, become Junior Champions. As a member, they receive an official t-shirt, free tickets to select Aztec games, unlimited entrance to the museum, invitations to special autograph events, and more!
Parties: There's no basic package. The museum customizes the party to suit your needs. You can organize it around a particular sport, for instance, rent one of several rooms, take a "white glove" tour, and order the food of your choice, thanks to the caterer it has on site. Everyone will do his or her best to work within your budget. Call 619.234.2544, and ask for Marie.
