about San Diego Humane Society and SPCA:

The Humane Society has been assisting San Diego's animals for over 125 years by providing shelter and adoptions of animals, positive reinforcement behavior training for adoptable animals, offering public training classes for owned animals, investigating animal cruelty and neglect, providing education programs, sharing animals through pet-assisted therapy and rescuing animals in emergency situations.

Members of the Pet PALS Club (Crafty Critters ages six to nine, and Animal Ambassadors ages ten to 13) receive a t-shirt certificate, ID tag, pen, Pet PALS newsletters, and invitations to regular club events held at the San Diego Humane Society and SPCA which include hands-on experiences with animals, fun learning opportunities and service activities that help the animals at the campus.

The Humane Society also hosts an Animal Adventure Camp during summer and spring school vacation, for kids ages five to 13. The hands-on camps help kids develop respect and a positive attitude towards all living beings through hands-on activities, including interactions with animal, games, and crafts. The camp day runs from 9am-3pm with extended care available. Call 619.243.3432 or email for more information.

This is a non-profit organization whose funding comes mainly from donations.
