The
San Jacinto Battleground State Historic Park is where the battle that brought Texas its independence was fought. The site consists of the
San Jacinto Museum of History inside the base of the Monument, picnic areas throughout the battleground, and the Battleship TEXAS. The Monument features an
observation floor 567 feet up, a movie depicting Texas history, and special exhibits.
Visitors can also trek along a 2.5-mile
hiking tour of the battleground.
The
Battleship TEXAS, the first battleship memorial museum in the country, is open daily from 10am-5pm. Further details on the battleship are available on the Texas Parks and Wildlife

Prices: Park admission: $1 per person.
Museum: exhibits $3-$5; movie $3.50-$4.50; observation floor $3-$4; combo tickets are available.
Battleship: Adults $10; Seniors $5; Children (12 and under) free.
The grounds also host the annual
San Jacinto Day Festival and Battle Reenactment, as well as Christmastime festivities.
