The Sandia Peak Ski Area offers 30 trails, 4 chairlifts, a surface lift, and a children's Mitey Mite. Most of the ski trails at Sandia are easy to intermediate. Cross-country skiing and snowboarding are also options. A fully staffed ski school, rental shop and skiers' cafe are available. Ski season is totally dependent on snowfall. The dates listed above often vary due to no snow. Call 505.857.8977 for the Snow Report. Ski School offers full and half-day lessons. Downhill, telemark, and snowboard lessons are available at 10am and 1pm daily. The Children's Ski School offers ski lessons and Mitey Mite for children age 4-6 at 10am and 1pm. Combination and Season Passes are available. Call or check website for details. Ski packages that include rental, lessons, and lifts are also available. The Ski area is accessible by car (east side of the mountain) or by the Sandia Tramway. The beginners course is more accessible by car.
