Sands Theater Center provides quality entertainment and cultural enrichment for the citizens of and the visitors to the Volusia County area. The center also offers live theater experiences and educational opportunities for students in area schools.
The center features five professionally directed productions each season. Auditions are open to the public. Stage II - the black box theater - offers an intimate viewing experience including contemporary and classic productions.
Storybook Theater Company incorporates youth theater, school tours, summer drama camps, and theater classes for all ages. Storybook educators design and conduct creative drama projects to meet specific needs such as oral language development, abuse recognition programs, and the development of social skill, - often in partnership with area schools, community resource agencies, and other arts organizations.
The Sands Theater Center also hosts the DeLand Little Symphony, a community orchestra that presents two concerts each season on our Main Stage, as well as performances throughout the community during the year.
