The Santa Monica Swim Center offers two deck-level pools engineered to minimize waves and water resistance - a 50 meter Olympic Fitness Pool and a recreational Splash Pool (a 25-yard, 10-lane all-shallow pool with depths ranging from 2 to 4 feet) - an upper level community meeting room, and a sun deck overlooking the pools.
The Swim Center's heated, outdoor pools provide recreational and lap swimming, swimming lessons, specialty classes, lifeguard training (ages 15 and up), and opportunities to join a range of adult and youth aquatic teams.
To avoid parking problems, purchase a Splash Pass ($40/Santa Monica resident, $80/nonresident), which includes 20 swims and a permit to park in one of the Santa Monica College lots next door.
Picnics are permitted (no glass bottles).
Children under eight years must be accompanied by an adult.
