about SCERA Center for the Arts:

The SCERA Center for the Arts was founded in 1933, and is dedicated to youth job training, the development and advancement of culture, education, recreation, and family entertainment.

The center's Xango Grand Theater features one of the largest movie screens in the state, and is Utah's only community-owned family theater; R-rated movies are never on the schedule. Ticket prices are $6.50 for adults, and $4.50 for children (3-11). Matinee pricing is available; all shows before 6pm are $4.

Showhouse II hosts live theater, concerts, Theatre for Young Audiences (for school field trips or families with younger children), the annual LDS Film Festival, Celebration of Veterans, the annual Star Awards and Evening of Stars Gala, youth arts education programs, Sunday firesides, and Wednesday Night Live events (magicians, comedians, hypnotists, open mic, bands, etc.) Order tickets by phone, online, at the box office, or at the door. Prices vary by performance; visit the website for a schedule of events and for details on pricing.

The SCERA Center for the Arts also offers a large variety of programming for children, including art classes (ages six to 18 and home school groups), cartooning (ages 12-18), Mom & Me art class (ages four to six), the Youth Speech Society (ages 13-15), Youth Theatre (ages five to 18), Children's Choir (ages three to 18), Youth Playwriting Lab (ages 14-19), and the SCERAvision Youth Media Lab (ages 10-18). Most offerings are held in the afterschool hours. Prices vary for the youth programs; check the website for dates, details, and pricing.

The center also has an art gallery featuring discounted fine art from Repartee Gallery.

The Orem Heritage Museum is located on the second floor of the center. It features a 30,000 piece collection that educates visitors about the unique history of Orem through artifacts. Admission is free. Museum hours are:

September through May, Mon-Sat 3pm-7pm
During operating hours, walk-through or guided tours are available. Tours may be scheduled at other times by calling 801.225.ARTS.
