Housed in what used to be a grocery store,
Schlafly Bottleworks is the city's first new bottling brewery since the end of Prohibition. The site
doubles as a restaurant, serving fresh pizza, a variety of noodle and grain dishes, and salads, soups, and sandwiches along with hand-crafted microbrews; brunch is served on weekends. No kids' menu, but the menu's comfort foods are very child-friendly and kid-sized portions are easy to order.
Schlafly Bottleworks hosts numerous workshops, discussion groups, and presentations throughout the year, many of them with a "green" component. The venue's parking lot serves as the setting for
Maplewood's Farmers Market.
The Bottleworks offers
free, guided tours each afternoon on the hour; check website for specific schedules. Three rooms are also available for rent for parties or special events.
