about Schuylkill Banks:

Schuylkill Banks is an urban recreational area that runs along the east bank of the Schuylkill River, connecting Center City with Kelly Drive and Fairmount Park. The Schuylkill Banks greenway currently runs from Locust Street to the Fairmount Water Works, but plans are in motion to extend it down to the Delaware River. Schuylkill Banks is comprised of the urban portion of the Schuylkill Trail, a 30-mile network that runs parallel to the Schuylkill River from Center City Philadelphia to Valley Forge and beyond. Schuylkill Banks offers a full range of programming, including riverboat cruises, kayak tours (from a dock located at Walnut Street), movies, concerts, and other special events. Individual uses include bicycling, roller-bladding, running and strolling.

getting there:

Schuylkill Banks is accessible from at-grade crossings at 25th and Locust Streets, 24th and Race Streets, and Martin Luther King Boulevard; stair towers on the east side of the Walnut Street Bridge; and ramps on the east side of the Chestnut and Market Street bridges.
